How to use it
- Create an event code. Press “Create a new event code” (or type your own, 4-12 letters or numbers) and share it with your control room and signers.
- Everyone joins. Enter the event code and your name, then choose Control room or BSL signer. Click or tap once after joining so your browser allows sound, and use Test sound to check your speakers.
- Signer sends a warning. Before swapping, the signer presses a button: 2 minutes, 1 minute, 30 seconds, 10 seconds or “Switching now”. They can also name the next signer.
- Control room is alerted. The screen flashes, an alarm sounds and a voice announces the switch. In the last 10 seconds the voice counts down aloud: “10, 9, 8 … switch now”.
- Operator acknowledges. One tap on Acknowledge (or the space bar) silences the alarm. The signer sees a clear confirmation. Either side can cancel the switch or send a short message.
Features
- Audio, voice and visual alerts, with a spoken 10-second countdown
- Instant confirmation for the signer when the alert is sent and when it is acknowledged
- Live status showing who is connected, and a warning if no control room is online
- Quick messages between the control room and signers
- Very low bandwidth: tiny updates every few seconds, works on mobile data
- No accounts: access is by event code only
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. Anyone can create an event and use it.
How long is my event data kept?
Each event, and everything in it, is automatically deleted 72 hours after it is created. No recordings or personal details are stored, only names typed in and the current alert and messages.
Why can’t I hear the alarm?
Browsers block sound until you interact with the page. Click or tap once after joining, press Test sound, and check that the browser tab and your computer’s audio output are not muted. If you see a red “Sound off” button, click it.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. Signers can use a phone or tablet; the control room should use a computer or tablet with the page kept open and visible.
How much data does it use?
Almost none. The page checks for changes every few seconds and normally receives an empty reply.
Is it secure?
Anyone with the event code can take part, so share it only with your team and use a code that is not easy to guess.
