Moving Light Service & Repair
I provide moving light service and repair for professional lighting fixtures, supporting production companies, venues and dry-hire suppliers who need reliable kit and fast, practical fault-finding.
You can either send a fixture to me for bench diagnosis and repair, or for multiple units I can attend on site to service and troubleshoot in bulk.
How the service works
Option 1: Send-in repair (single fixtures / ad-hoc faults)
- You send the unit to me (or arrange courier)
- I assess the fixture under the inspection fee and confirm findings
- I’ll then quote parts and labour before carrying out any repair work
- The fixture is tested before return
Option 2: On-site service (multiple fixtures)
For batches of fixtures, it’s often quicker and more cost-effective for me to come to you:
- Units that need deeper work can be quarantined for parts/bench repair if required
- I attend your warehouse/venue with tools and common consumables
- I work through fixtures systematically: inspection, cleaning, test, minor repairs and fault triage
Pricing
Send-in fixtures: £50 inspection fee per fixture (covers initial assessment, cleaning and fault diagnosis). This is payable whether or not you proceed with repair. If you go ahead, I’ll confirm parts and labour before starting work.
On-site repairs / servicing: charged at a day rate. Send me the fixture list and postcode and I’ll quote.
Parts, courier costs, components, travel and subsistence are charged separately.
What I do
- Fault diagnosis and repair (mechanical / electrical / control-related where applicable)
- Fixture servicing and internal cleaning
- Optical path cleaning where accessible and appropriate
- Fans and airflow checks, basic preventative maintenance
- Sensor cleaning
- Parts sourcing and replacement (where parts are available)
- Functional testing after repair / service
I’ll always aim for a practical outcome: return-to-service where possible, or clear triage if a unit isn’t economical to repair.
What I don’t cover
I don’t service or repair DJ-grade / consumer fixtures. This service is aimed at professional equipment used in production, venue and hire environments.

What to include when you enquire
To keep diagnosis fast, include:
- Fixture make/model
- A short fault description (what it does / doesn’t do)
- Any error codes/messages
- Relevant history (drop, water ingress, power issue, hours, etc.)
- Your preference: send-in or on-site batch service
